Fast and lasting antidepressant-like effects of the PA-915 receptor blocker in mice under chronic stress

Updated

Abstract

PA-915 may improve anxiety and depression symptoms in chronic stress-induced mice.

  • PA-915 is a high-affinity PAC1 antagonist that could suppress anxiety-like behavior.
  • In chronic stress models, PA-915 reduced immobility time in the forced swim test.
  • PA-915 improved anxiety, depression, and cognitive function in repeated social defeat stress mice.
  • A single dose of PA-915 showed an antidepressant-like effect similar to ketamine over 8 weeks.
  • In non-stressed mice, PA-915 did not cause behavioral problems, such as hyperlocomotion or cognitive dysfunction.
