Updated

Abstract

A statistically significant improvement in maximum aerobic capacity (VO2 max) was observed in the Ashwagandha group compared to the placebo group (P = 0.0074).

  • Participants taking Ashwagandha showed a significant increase in VO2 max from baseline (P < 0.0001).
  • Total Quality Recovery Scores (TQR) significantly improved in the Ashwagandha group compared to the placebo group (P < 0.0001).
  • Analysis of the Daily Analysis of Life Demands for Athletes (DALDA) questionnaire revealed significant benefits for the Ashwagandha group (P < 0.0001).
  • RESTQ assessment indicated better recovery outcomes in the Ashwagandha group, particularly for fatigue recovery and lack of energy (P < 0.0001 for both).
  • An increase in antioxidant levels was significantly noted in participants taking Ashwagandha (P < 0.0001).
  • No adverse events were reported among subjects in the Ashwagandha group.
