Bailing capsule may improve polycystic ovary syndrome in mice by affecting the gut inflammation pathway

Updated

Abstract

Bailing capsules (BL) significantly reduced body weight and improved hormone levels in a PCOS mouse model.

  • BL administration improved insulin resistance and decreased pathological damage to ovarian tissues.
  • The treatment up-regulated the expression of key proteins related to insulin signaling in the liver.
  • Serum levels of inflammatory markers such as TNF-α and IL-6 were significantly reduced with BL treatment.
  • BL enhanced intestinal barrier function by increasing the expression of Occludin.
  • Changes in gut microbiome composition included an increase in Akkermansia and a decrease in Lactobacillus and norank_f__Muribaculacea.
