Abstract
BBTD administration effectively reduced the volume of cerebral infarction and improved neurologic functions in a rat model of posterior circulation ischemia vertigo.
- BBTD treatment decreased neuronal cell death and neuroinflammation.
- Significant changes in gut microbiota diversity and composition were observed, including an increase in beneficial bacteria such as Lactobacillus and Prevotella.
- Relative abundances of harmful bacteria like Lachnospiraceae and Bacteroidetes were reduced following BBTD treatment.
- BBTD administration increased the content of propionate, a short-chain fatty acid associated with neurological recovery.
- Propionate may play a role in enhancing neurological functions and reducing apoptosis in the context of PCIV.
