CM@THC, a biomimetic nanoplatform, effectively restored redox balance and mitochondrial function in chondrocytes.

  • Mitochondrial dysfunction and chondrocyte senescence are linked to cartilage degeneration in osteoarthritis.
  • The engineered nanoplatform combines hesperidin with tetrahedral framework nucleic acids and chondrocyte membranes for enhanced targeting.
  • CM@THC improved cellular uptake and retention within the joint environment.
  • Restoration of redox homeostasis and mitophagy was achieved in inflammatory chondrocytes, reducing cellular aging effects.
  • The treatment limited the activation of fibroblast-like synoviocytes, which are involved in joint pathology.
