Updated

Abstract

Each one-unit increase in (BRI) is associated with a 13% higher prevalence of sleep disorders.

  • Among 32,504 participants, 4,568 reported sleep disorders.
  • A one-unit increase in BRI is linked to an 8% higher prevalence of depression.
  • A nonlinear relationship between BRI and sleep disorder prevalence was observed, with a breakpoint of 3.508.
  • BRI demonstrated superior predictive capability for sleep disorders compared to traditional obesity indices, with an area under the curve of 0.637.
  • Depression was identified as a partial mediator for 14% of the association between BRI and sleep disorders.
