Body Weight and Metabolism Changes During Semaglutide and Tirzepatide Treatment in People from Türkiye Over Time

Updated

Abstract

The cohort included 184 patients, with 94 (51.1%) receiving semaglutide and 90 (48.9%) receiving tirzepatide.

  • Both semaglutide and tirzepatide were associated with early reductions in body weight.
  • At month 3, tirzepatide was associated with a larger weight loss compared to semaglutide, with a difference of -3.14 percentage points.
  • No statistically significant difference in weight loss between the two treatments was observed at month 1.
  • The month 6 weight change estimate for tirzepatide is less reliable due to only four patients having measurements within the visit window.
  • Longer-term comparisons of weight loss outcomes may require more balanced follow-up and additional observations.
