After 5 years, 40.9% of 198 ore miners with borderline hypertension developed full hypertension.

  • 18.7% of the miners experienced a return to normal blood pressure over the study period.
  • 40.4% of miners maintained blood pressure within normal limits.
  • No significant relationship was found between blood pressure changes and various work conditions, including workload and exposure to vibrations.
  • The risk of developing hypertension in individuals with borderline hypertension remains unpredictable.
