Using Chinmedomics to Identify Active Ingredients and How Nanshi Capsule Works for Kidney-Yang Deficiency Syndrome

Updated

Abstract

Eleven biomarkers of kidney-yang deficiency syndrome (KYDS) were identified in rat models.

  • The metabolites related to KYDS include those involved in steroid hormone biosynthesis, tryptophan metabolism, and tyrosine metabolism.
  • Nanshi capsule (NPC) may regulate steroid hormone biosynthesis and key metabolic pathways in KYDS.
  • Key compounds of NPC identified in rat serum include caffeic acid, betaine, and umbelliferone.
  • NPC could integrally regulate metabolic disturbances associated with KYDS by improving hormone synthesis and related metabolic pathways.
  • The chinmedomics method may support the identification of new drugs from traditional Chinese medicine.
