CS-EDB nanoparticles achieved 83.50 ± 0.44 % encapsulation efficiency.

  • CS-EDB nanoparticles exhibited a particle size of approximately 277.0 ± 3.96 nm and a Zeta potential of -16.2 ± 0.71 mV.
  • These nanoparticles showed a 1.1-fold reduction in mucus penetration compared to uncoated EDB nanoparticles.
  • CS-EDB nanoparticles demonstrated a 2.15-fold increase in cellular uptake and a 1.77-fold increase in transepithelial transport efficiency across a co-culture model.
  • Endocytosis efficiency was primarily driven by energy-dependent processes and partially by another uptake mechanism.
  • CS-EDB nanoparticles achieved 13.29 % pharmacological bioavailability and positively influenced blood glucose and serum lipid levels.
