Abstract
Chronic stress may significantly exacerbate systemic inflammation, causing widespread tissue damage and shortened lifespan in mice.
- Chronic stress in a mouse model is associated with reduced lymphocytes and increased myeloid cells across multiple tissues.
- The lungs and kidneys show marked stress responses, including changes in gene regulation and energy production dysfunction.
- Both β-nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) and a traditional medicine called Bazi Bushen (BZBS) may alleviate signs of aging caused by chronic stress.
- BZBS appears to restore balance in the immune system and lower stress and inflammation levels in various tissues.
- Certain bioactive compounds from BZBS are linked to improved energy production in cells through specific cellular signaling pathways.
