Daily patterns of blood clot size in heart attacks

Updated

Abstract

Circadian variation in STEMI onset is well established.

  • The relationship between the timing of symptoms and the amount of blood clot (thrombus burden) is not clearly understood.
  • Previous research has shown that the time of day can influence the occurrence of ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI).
  • Understanding this relationship could inform the management of STEMI patients.
