Abstract
The phase angle of physical activity relative to blue light is a predictor of total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels in individuals with the TT/CC genotypes.
- Extreme photoperiods in the Arctic may disrupt circadian rhythms and affect metabolism and health.
- The study involved 64 participants who underwent seasonal actigraphy and genotyping for specific genetic polymorphisms.
- Multiple regression analysis indicated that the phase angle of physical activity relative to blue light is significantly associated with cholesterol levels.
- The TT/CC genotype showed the strongest negative correlation with total cholesterol (r = -0.684) and LDL cholesterol (r = -0.623).
- The explained variance for total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol was 47% and 39%, respectively, in individuals with the TT/CC combination.
