  • The average prerace breakfast included 70 ± 16 g of carbohydrates, 29 ± 20 g of protein, and 21 ± 8 g of fat.
  • Caloric intake during races totaled 5,530 ± 1,673 kcals, with an average of 333 ± 105 kcals per hour.
  • Ninety-three percent of the caloric intake came from commercial products.
  • Athletes reported an average consumption of 912 ± 322 mg of caffeine and 6.9 ± 2.4 g of sodium.
