Abstract

CPAP produced a 22.17 events/h reduction in apnea-hypopnea index compared to no active intervention.

  • CPAP improved sleepiness as measured by the Epworth Sleepiness Scale, with a mean difference of -2.75.
  • Liraglutide led to a significant reduction in body mass index by 1.60 kg/m and glycated hemoglobin by 0.19%.
  • Combining liraglutide with CPAP resulted in the largest reduction in body mass index of 2.00 kg/m.
  • No intervention significantly affected systolic or diastolic blood pressure or fasting glucose levels.
  • Evidence certainty was moderate for CPAP's effects on respiratory and sleepiness outcomes, and for GLP-1 receptor agonists on weight and glycemic control, while low for blood pressure and glucose.
