Using CRISPR to Selectively Remove an Important Gene in Uveal Melanoma

Updated

Abstract

Essence

Cas13d targeting of RasGRP3 selectively eliminated uveal melanoma cells in preclinical experiments.

Evidence

This computational and cell-based preclinical study identified RASGRP3 from public expression, RNAi, and CRISPR knockout datasets, then used LNP-delivered Cas13d mRNA and guide RNA to eliminate >97% of uveal melanoma cells while sparing healthy cells.

Caveat

The evidence is limited to public datasets and cell experiments, with no animal or human efficacy or safety results reported.
