  • Genetic modifiers of neuronal depolarization were evaluated using a human iPSC-derived neuron model.
  • Several known regulators of neuronal excitability, such as TARPs and ion channels, were confirmed to influence depolarization.
  • New associations were found between genes linked to autism spectrum disorder and Alzheimer's disease and their effects on neuronal depolarization.
  • The CRISPR interference screening platform may facilitate the discovery of molecular mechanisms that regulate neuronal function.
