  • Independent risk factors for delirium included age, APACHE score at ICU admission, neurological disease, sepsis, and duration of mechanical ventilation.
  • The median duration of delirium among ICU patients was 2 days.
  • Delirium persisted in 52% of patients at the time of ICU discharge.
