Muscle triglyceride concentration was significantly higher after a high-fat diet compared to a high-carbohydrate diet following a 24-hour fasting period.
- Muscle triglyceride levels before and after a 120-minute cycling bout were not significantly different between the high-carbohydrate and high-fat diets.
- After a 24-hour fasting period, muscle triglyceride levels were higher in the high-fat diet trial than in the high-carbohydrate trial.
