Dietary Flavonoids and Their Link to Circadian Syndrome in a Large Population

Updated

Abstract

High intake of total flavanones is associated with a 28% decrease in the risk of circadian syndrome.

  • The study involved 9,212 noninstitutionalized adults from national health surveys.
  • Data on six types of dietary flavonoids were collected through 24-hour dietary recalls.
  • Only high intake of total flavanones showed a significant decrease in the likelihood of circadian syndrome.
  • The odds ratio for reduced risk of circadian syndrome in individuals with high flavanone intake was 0.72.
  • A linear dose-response relationship was observed between flavanone intake and the likelihood of circadian syndrome.
