Using Online Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia in Teens with Mental Health Issues: A Feasibility Trial

Participants had an average sleep efficiency of 53%, with 92% meeting criteria for clinical insomnia.

  • Most participants (78%) were not receiving treatment for insomnia.
  • High rates of depression (92%) and anxiety (51%) were observed among the participants.
  • The digital CBT for insomnia program, Sleepio, was activated by 77% of participants, and 54% completed it.
  • Significant improvements were noted in sleep efficiency, sleep quality, low mood, and anxiety after using the program.
  • Participant satisfaction was high, with 84% finding Sleepio helpful and 95% willing to recommend it.
