Using Digital Support Improves Weight Loss in Adults with Obesity Taking Tirzepatide

Updated

Abstract

Among 126,553 participants, 5.3% were maximally engaged with digital support tools while prescribed tirzepatide.

  • Engaged participants experienced greater adjusted weight loss at month 12, achieving a loss of -22.9% compared to -17.5% for nonengaged users.
  • Differences in weight loss between engaged and nonengaged participants became evident by month 2 and continued to widen over the study period.
  • Engaged users reached clinically significant weight loss milestones (5%-20%) faster than nonengaged participants.
  • Engaged participants were nearly 3 times more likely to achieve ≥20% weight loss compared to their nonengaged counterparts.
  • Older age, higher BMI, and specific health conditions were correlated with higher engagement in digital support.
