Testing how well dill extract works in lab tests and living animals

Updated

Abstract

Dill extract at 1% increased the lateral elasticity of dermis equivalents by 29%.

  • Lysyl oxidase-like (LOXL) is linked to skin elasticity, and its expression decreases with age.
  • Dill seed extract has been shown to increase LOXL expression in cultured dermal fibroblasts.
  • In vivo treatment with 1% dill extract for 56 days resulted in significant improvements in skin firmness and elastic recovery compared to placebo.
  • Clinical evaluations indicated significant enhancements in skin elasticity among subjects treated with the dill extract.
  • After 84 days, the mean area and length of wrinkles were significantly reduced compared to placebo.
