Updated

Abstract

Duloxetine significantly reduced average pain scores by -2.57 compared to placebo at the endpoint.

  • Duloxetine also led to a greater improvement in depression symptoms, with a mean change in MADRS total scores of -16.69 versus -11.31 for placebo.
  • Patients treated with duloxetine showed significantly higher remission and response rates for both pain and major depressive disorder.
  • Duloxetine outperformed placebo on most secondary outcome measures, including the impact of pain on daily life.
  • Common treatment-emergent adverse events in duloxetine-treated patients included nausea, hyperhidrosis, and dry mouth.
