The prevalence of excess weight among adolescents increased from 17% in 2003 to 22% in 2008.
- Boys reduced their intake of saturated fats and vitamin A over the study period.
- Girls increased their intake of energy, carbohydrates, and calcium while reducing protein and iron.
- Both genders decreased their consumption of vitamin E and lipids and increased sodium intake.
- Adolescents with excess weight showed a rise in calcium intake alongside a decrease in saturated fat and vitamin A.
- Overall, the nutritional quality of the adolescents' diet declined from 2003 to 2008.
