Designed polymer nanoparticles that deliver mRNA specifically to the spleen
Updated
Abstract
6PP3-PNP preferentially delivered mRNA to the spleen after systemic administration in mice.
- Nine new hydrophobized polymers were synthesized for efficient mRNA delivery.
- Three optimal polymeric nanoparticles were selected based on in vitro transfection screening.
- Different nanoparticles showed varying organ tropism, with 6PP3-PNP targeting the spleen and others targeting the liver.
- 6PP3-PNP demonstrated excellent biocompatibility in both in vitro and in vivo assessments.
- The study highlights the structure-function relationship in hydrophobized polymers for mRNA delivery.
