Excessive Internet Gaming Linked to Immersion Tendency Through ADHD Symptoms in Korean Male University Students

  • Higher is observed in individuals affected by problematic online gaming and internet use.
  • Current ADHD symptoms showed a partial mediation effect on the relationship between immersive tendency and POG/PIU.
  • The mediation model focused on inattention provided a better explanation of variance in POG and PIU compared to other ADHD symptom models.
  • Childhood ADHD symptoms also demonstrated mediation effects, but explained less variance in POG and PIU than current symptoms.
