Abstract
Liraglutide (LIRA) significantly inhibits IL-1β-induced inflammation in tendon cells.
- LIRA enhances tendon cell anabolism and upregulates the AMPK/SIRT1 pathway.
- Activation of GLP-1 receptors is associated with prevention of tendon cell apoptosis and endoplasmic reticulum stress.
- In a rat rotator cuff injury model, LIRA promotes tissue regeneration and restores biomechanical strength.
- The findings suggest a potential therapeutic role for LIRA in rotator cuff repair.
