Comparing combined GLP-1 and SGLT2 treatments to GLP-1 alone for heart rhythm issues in non-diabetic obese patients over time

Updated

Abstract

Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RA) and sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) are increasingly used together in patients without diabetes.

  • Both GLP-1RAs and SGLT2is have known benefits for heart and metabolic health.
  • The combined effects of these medications on heart rhythm disturbances are not well understood.
  • Research on cardiac arrhythmias in non-diabetic obese patients is limited.
