Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs) may have substantial metabolic benefits for patients with antipsychotic-related overweight and metabolic dysregulation.

  • Antipsychotic-related overweight and metabolic dysregulation are highly prevalent in patients with severe mental illness.
  • Efficacy and safety of GLP-1RAs in this specific patient group remain unclear.
  • This review systematically evaluates the potential benefits of GLP-1RAs for these patients.
