Abstract
Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is associated with a high burden of metabolic comorbidities.
- Obesity, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), dyslipidaemia, and polycystic ovary syndrome are common among individuals with HS.
- Clinical management of HS has primarily focused on dermatological aspects, neglecting cardiometabolic risk factors.
- There is a need for better integration of cardiometabolic risk management in the care of HS patients.
