Abstract
Data from 13,670 patients indicate that treatment effect heterogeneity for glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists in type 2 diabetes is limited.
- Individual responses to glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists vary, but identifying the factors driving this variability is important for personalized treatment.
- Baseline hemoglobin A1c is the most significant factor influencing treatment effects, followed by kidney function.
- The analysis suggests that the overall variation explained by these factors is small.
- Large covariate-driven heterogeneity is unlikely in the analyzed trials.
- The average treatment effect may serve as an adequate summary for most patients.
