Using GEP44 to combine hormone effects for better weight loss and blood sugar control with fewer stomach side effects

Updated

Abstract

GEP44 is associated with decreased body weight, food intake, and insulin resistance in rodent models.

  • GEP44 is a novel peptide designed to target the GLP-1 receptor and multiple neuropeptide Y receptors.
  • Preclinical studies indicate that GEP44 promotes weight loss and improves blood sugar regulation in both lean and diet-induced obese rodents.
  • Peripheral administration of GEP44 generally decreases body weight and food intake while increasing energy expenditure.
  • The effects of GEP44 on body weight and food intake are comparable to or exceed those of single GLP-1 receptor agonists.
  • GEP44 demonstrates improved gastrointestinal tolerability compared to existing GLP-1-based therapies.
