GLP-1 receptor agonists may impact 90-day surgical complications following total hip and knee arthroplasties.

  • Obesity and diabetes are linked to increased risks of developing osteoarthritis.
  • These conditions are associated with worse outcomes after total hip and knee surgeries.
  • GLP-1 receptor agonists are known to improve blood sugar control and aid in weight loss.
  • The study aims to evaluate the effects of GLP-1a treatment on complications within 90 days post-surgery.
