Hair Loss Linked to Use of GLP-1 Receptor Activating Drugs

Updated

Abstract

A total of 2,905 adult patients were analyzed for hair loss outcomes related to GLP-1 receptor agonists.

  • Five studies were included in the review, focusing on the effects of GLP-1 receptor agonists on hair loss.
  • Conflicting findings were observed, with some studies indicating hair regrowth and others reporting hair loss.
  • Dermatological side effects, including hair loss, may be associated with the use of GLP-1 receptor agonists.
  • Further research is needed to better understand the relationship between GLP-1 receptor agonists and alopecia.
