Health coaching and blood sugar control in people with uncontrolled type 2 diabetes: a randomized trial

Abstract

Fasting plasma glucose was significantly lower in the intervention group at 135.46 mg/dL compared to the control group at 176.59 mg/dL.

  • 2-hours Post Prandial Glucose (2hPPG) levels were significantly lower in the intervention group at 141.42 mg/dL compared to 242.11 mg/dL in the control group.
  • HbA1c levels were lower in the intervention group at 7.83% compared to 8.87% in the control group, though this difference was not statistically significant.
  • The health coaching program was associated with improved glycemic control at the six-month follow-up.
  • No significant differences were noted in dietary control and physical activity levels between the two groups.
