AD GWAS genes shaped inflammatory states in human iPSC-derived exposed to a viral mimic.

Evidence

This screen of 119 AD GWAS hits in hiPSC-derived microglia used poly(I:C)-induced ROS and CROP-seq single-cell RNA-seq to identify inflammatory and disease-associated microglial cluster changes after gene knockdown.

Caveat

The findings come from an in vitro microglial model with poly(I:C) stimulation, so they clarify candidate gene functions rather than proving disease mechanisms in patients.
