Ingestion of 2'-fucosyllactose (2'-FL) reduced C. jejuni colonization by 80% in mice.

  • 2'-FL attenuated 80% of C. jejuni invasion in human epithelial cells.
  • The release of proinflammatory signals was suppressed by 60-90% in treated cells.
  • Weight loss in mice was reduced by 5% with 2'-FL ingestion.
  • Histologic features of intestinal inflammation were decreased by 50-70% in mice.
  • Induction of inflammatory signaling molecules was reduced by 50-60% in the acute-phase immune response.
