Semaglutide use among U.S. adults with type 2 diabetes was higher in above-median-income and privately insured groups.

Evidence

A 2022 MEPS cross-sectional analysis studied 2,542 adults, representing about 30.3 million U.S. adults with type 2 diabetes, using adjusted logistic regression.

Caveat

Survey associations identify access disparities but cannot establish why individuals did or did not receive semaglutide or whether proposed policy fixes would work.
