Insulin sensitivity and insulin-producing cell function with Macupatide alone or combined with Dulaglutide in type 2 diabetes

Updated

Abstract

In a Phase 1b clinical trial, combination therapy with GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonists resulted in a 321.5% increase in the clamp disposition index after 12 weeks.

  • Participants receiving macupatide alone experienced a 63.2% change in the clamp disposition index.
  • Dulaglutide alone produced a 181.0% increase in the clamp disposition index.
  • Insulin sensitivity improved in all treatment groups, with macupatide alone increasing the M value by 33.1%.
  • The combination therapy outperformed both monotherapies in enhancing insulin secretion and sensitivity.
  • Injection site reactions and diarrhoea were the most common adverse events, but treatment discontinuations were rare.
