Evidence

Platform experiment and kinetic model across 480 Cas12a- variants found that 5 min reporter-conjugate pre-incubation removed false-positive artifacts, while 20 nM reporter and smaller gold nanoparticles with multivalent fluorescent reporters improved sensitivity by more than 50-fold across configurations.

Caveat

Detection was demonstrated up to 20 pM for one bacterial DNA target, so real-sample performance and broad target transferability remain outside this abstract.
