Comparing the effectiveness and safety of Liraglutide and Metformin in women with polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome

Updated

Abstract

No statistically significant difference in BMI was found between liraglutide and metformin in women with polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS).

  • Liraglutide and metformin showed comparable effects on insulin resistance, fasting glucose levels, and fasting insulin levels in women with PMOS.
  • Menstrual cycle frequency favored metformin, but no significant difference was observed between the two treatments.
  • Liraglutide was associated with a significantly lower risk of diarrhea compared to metformin, suggesting a 69% relative risk reduction.
  • The absence of significant differences in the outcomes does not imply equivalence or non-inferiority between liraglutide and metformin.
