Long Noncoding RNA HCG22 May Slow Cancer Cell Movement in Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Updated

Abstract

Two hundred forty-one lncRNAs and 835 mRNAs were observed to be remarkably altered between ESCC tumor tissues and adjacent normal tissues.

  • Downregulation of lncRNA HCG22 was validated in ESCC tumor tissues.
  • A correlation exists between lncRNA HCG22 expression levels and the differentiation degree and clinical TNM stage of ESCC.
  • Patients with low lncRNA HCG22 expression in ESCC tissues had considerably shorter overall survival compared to those with high expression.
  • The lncRNA-mRNA regulatory network indicates a coexpression association between lncRNA HCG22 and SPINK7 and ADAMTS12.
  • HCG22 and ADAMTS12 may play potential roles in the cell migration of ESCC.
