How common long COVID symptoms are in Tuscany, Italy, based on a phone survey of the general population

Abstract

Among 1,753 participants, 57.8% reported a history of COVID-19.

  • Individuals with a history of COVID-19 had a higher prevalence of fatigue (12.8% vs 8.9%).
  • Concentration impairment was reported by 5.5% of those with previous COVID-19 compared to 2.4% without.
  • Skin rashes were found in 4.5% of individuals with past COVID-19, compared to 2.4% in those without.
  • Higher symptom prevalence and odds were noted in more recent COVID-19 cases, especially among females and those with concurrent diseases.
