  • Increased phone usage, fewer locations visited, and reduced physical activity were noted during the same term.
  • Mental health metrics were significantly associated with the amount of COVID-19-related news coverage (anxiety P<.001, depression P=.03).
  • Behavioral changes were tracked using mobile phone sensing and self-reported assessments over a 2-year period.
