Protein and Metabolite Changes in Ten Mouse Organs from Adulthood to Aging

Updated

Abstract

Essence

A mouse multi-organ proteome and metabolome atlas maps shared and organ-specific molecular changes from adulthood to aging.

Evidence

This resource and multi-omics analysis profiled 400 tissue samples from 10 mouse organs at 4, 8, 12, and 20 months, identifying 14,763 protein groups, 3779 metabolites, age-related immune-response proteins, and altered purine, pyrimidine, riboflavin, and nicotinate/nicotinamide metabolism.

Caveat

The atlas is descriptive mouse evidence, so its aging markers and intervention implications require validation before translation to human geriatric disease.

Simplified

Key numbers

14,763
Proteins Identified
Total identified across ten organs at four age stages.
3,779
Identified
Total analyzed across multiple organs during aging.
11
Number of shared between organs at different ages.
