Efruxifermin was significantly superior to placebo for improving fibrosis by at least one stage without worsening metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH).

  • Nine randomized controlled trials involving 3266 participants were reviewed.
  • Efruxifermin ranked highest for fibrosis improvement with a ranking probability of 77.44.
  • Cilofexor + firsocostat and aldafermin followed, with ranking probabilities of 72.38 and 71.27, respectively.
  • For MASH resolution, efruxifermin, semaglutide + cilofexor + firsocostat, and semaglutide were significantly better than placebo.
  • Efruxifermin also had the highest probability of ranking best for MASH resolution at 81.38.
