Abstract
The Oncology Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group has developed Standards of Practice and Standards of Professional Performance for oncology registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs).
- Standards of Practice incorporate the Nutrition Care Process, which includes screening, assessment, diagnosis, intervention, evaluation/monitoring, and discharge planning.
- Standards of Professional Performance outline six professionalism domains: Quality in Practice, Competence and Accountability, Provision of Services, Application of Research, Communication and Application of Knowledge, and Utilization and Management of Resources.
- Each standard includes specific indicators that provide measurable actions and describe three skill levels: competent, proficient, and expert.
- These standards aim to guide RDNs in enhancing their skills and addressing their development in oncology nutrition.
