Abstract

Diets of 200 students included an average energy intake of 1568.56 kcal/day for women and 2283.22 kcal/day for men.

  • Significant differences were observed in the energy content and nutritional value of diets between women and men (p = 0.01).
  • Both groups had food rations with low energy values not meeting the Human Nutrition Standards.
  • Protein intake for women met dietary recommendations at 56.73 g, while men's intake exceeded the standard at 89.32 g.
  • Fat intake was within recommended levels for both groups, with women consuming 59.67 g and men 89.09 g.
  • Carbohydrate intake was higher than recommended, with women at 213.14 g and men at 286.04 g.
  • Average cholesterol intake approached limits advised by the American Heart Association, at 239.08 mg for women and 394.92 mg for men.
