  • Chronic intermittent hypoxia (CIH) linked to OSA may induce oxidative stress.
  • CIH could contribute to chronic inflammation in the cardiovascular system.
  • Cellular senescence may be one of the pathways affected by OSA.
  • Mitochondrial dysfunction is associated with the cardiovascular impacts of OSA.
  • Metabolic dysregulation may occur as a result of OSA-related mechanisms.
  • Impaired intercellular communication and adipose tissue senescence could also be involved.
